How many times have you thought to yourself that you need to slow down? Or maybe someone who cares about you has told you to slow down?
For me, this year has been about slowing down a little from my normal craziness. Honestly, the COVID-19 is responsible for me slowing down quite a bit. For over a month, our store locations were closed and our online sales slowed down a bit. This gave me time to regroup and figure out how to proceed forward with the boutique and my life.
What has slowing down looked like for me?
Well, for starters, I found myself actually sitting down to relax for a little while each evening. That wasn't something I was ever doing, so it was a huge change for me. Most days it is only thirty minutes or so, but usually it is spent in my hammock in the backyard.
I also found some hobbies that I have been enjoying. I do not have a green thumb at all, but I found a love for at least attempting to grow things. I started with flowers and plants... some have survived...and others, well, just don't ask to see pics! It's been a learning process, to say the least.
Another thing I have enjoyed about slowing down my go, go, go schedule lately, has been meal planning and prepping. I spend almost every Sunday meal prepping for the week. I have been experimenting in the kitchen quite a bit. This has lead to us eating healthier and saving money on not eating out.
As business has picked back up and socialization has started to return to normal, I intend to do my best to balance my life better. I LOVE the boutique and I love socializing with friends and family, but the little break during "quarantine 2020" gave me some new perspective on how I need to do better at balancing my own life.
I've set up more of a schedule for working the boutique and I am not over scheduling my life with parties, cookouts, and gatherings.
How has Quarantine 2020/COVID-19 changed your perspective on life?
